THE MISSION
Drive for Obama is a narrative-based organization and one of thousands of grassroots strands that drive Barack Obama’s national campaign for the Presidency.
Our aim is to move from New York City to San Francisco in the 6 weeks building up to the election on November 4, spreading the message of hope and action on a personal level by volunteering state-by-state, attending rallies and events in small communities and engaging with people from all walks of life on the issues at stake in 2008.
We are encouraging people to join us by submitting their music, artwork, poetry, creative writing or any other ideas through our YouTube channel, Facebook group, email address or at http://www.driveforobama.blogspot.com/.
THE STORY
We are two British citizens who have been living and working in the United States since September 2007.
Having lived in this great country, we understand its challenges from a unique perspective – challenges of economic disparity and collapse, of two crippling international wars, a healthcare system that is not working for those who need it most, and of the most severe environmental threat our species has ever faced.
But we also believe in the idea of this country and we believe that, with a change of direction in 2008, the American Dream can endure and prosper.
